This is a mini diorama ...very straight forward maybe I will get it done by the next expo incorporating two schnebboots Type S100 ....late war in the Baltic theatre with a Sunderland flying way low on top of them...Haven't decided on the scheme patterns yet...a few alterations have to be done on the both which will also include a quadruple Flaverling aft which were introduced on few of the schnellboots operating in the baltic sea...here are a few pics on the initial stages of the diorama.

Looks good Lou, were the boats that big? The Sunderland looks small next to the boats and we both know how huge that plane was.

Louis, why not elaborate this one a bit more and make it based on the Operation Pedestal Convoy, attacking one of the ships? I have seen at Agenda Bookshop a book by a local artist based on his collection of paintings based on this subject ... and obviously have a local touch ... I think with your capabilities you can easily managed a side of a drowning ship ... ejja Nannu!

@ Brian might be the pic...but they're both 1/350 scale ...Boats come from Trumpeter and Sunderland from L'arsenal...issa naraw once they're positioned ...the Sunderland cud be easily taken off....
@Ivan ...bhallissa I 'm doing some modelling just for distraction ...haven't got the heart for it habib...so I want to keep it simple...Jiena my ultimate dream is to make a diorama before I kick the bucket of the Ohio limping into the grandharbour

Nice setup Lou ... here is a colour photo , may be you find it helpful for the pattern..
Lou have you consider the way of the sunderland attack .. in my opinion it should be across ..

Progress
Schnellboots soon be ready ...minus guns and crew have to scratchbuild the aft quadruple gun. guns will be fitted last according to the angle of fire later on. Sunderland seems quite convincing... debating whether to add acetate whirling props....any ideas please ? . Now working on the seascape...this has been a pleasant build although the Schnellboots needed quite a bit of work...

Wow Lou, how the hell do you manage?! Have you seen it on the news? AFM have towed a huge Euro coin they found floating, it was nearly as big as a schnellboot!! Its at haywharf. Awesome detail on the boats and the plane especially for that minure scale. how on earth do you work so small?

Amazing Lou, you are the master, what you managed to create in such a small space and in such a short time. Well done, it is really great and dynamic. Ilove it all including the backdrop.

What an amazing little diorama! Just something how you can make those miniscule little models look so realistic, they are better than a lot of the larger scale versions.
How did you do the water splashes?

hi
Hi slingshot...thanks very much for your kind comments...glad u liked the diorama ...it's small but I think quite effective. for the splashes I used aquarium filters cotton wool. It's quite different form the normal cotton wool...less dense and you can work it better once more thanks and best regards my friend

Thanks for the tip! There will be a number of uses for that, someday I will get back to scratch building some unlimited hydroplane's, and this will be great for showing the spray thrown up by the boat.
