Workshop - Soldering

During our Expo, we had a request for a workshop on soldering techniques.

I suggest one such workshop for Wed 21st April, hope that Alex can make it too as he has some valid experience.

I think that for starters we try to do some soldering on basic copper wires and other odd things and then move on the delicate photoetched parts. I will provide the basic tools and then we guide you regarding the required tools and accesories.

(PS As for the moment unfortunatly I can't do any demonstrations do to my condition which has drastically reduced my modelling hours to about 10 minutes a session! Hope to get better soon)

next wednesday is off for me im afraid, i will try to drop by but it would be late in the evening. as for soldering joe can start with the basics and maybe next time we could do another on framework and p.e.

Please bring some tools and material with you, I will do so as well.

As Alex pointed out, for the 1st workshop we do some basic soldering on some copper wire or PE left overs and then for the 2nd workshop those intrested will solder some real PE or frameworks.

Well done to the soldering demo Dave and Joseph, you made it look easy ...

So for the benefit of all and those that did not make it can you list the basic needs ...

Thank you David and Joseph for sharing your soldering skills. And as a bonus we learnt how to straighten a wire and about fibre-optic pencils!

Just in case you guys are interested, Lidl at Luqa had plenty of soldering irons at cheap price but very good quality. Got one and hope to use it correctly - for a change!
