Assyrian King 120mm

I will be posting some pics of my earlier Figures from time to time with a brief history re kit, scale, construction and painting

Here is the Assyrian King 120mm by Verlinden from 1996! It was my first figure to make it to EuroMilitaire after a year from my defection to the Dark Side (from Aircraft to Figurines )and entered him in Class5 (Scratch/Conversion over 65mm) and was lucky enough to get a Bronze Medal (still stuck in the Bronze Age )
It is a very minor conversion (won't get anything in that Class by today's new rules) where I re positioned his left arm to make it hold that "xettru" and placed a sword in his right........both items were scratchbuilt and it was painted entirely in Oils

design of the geometrical painting on the clothing is outstanding...no signs of Parkinson's Ray!!!!

Ray, what decals did you use for the fabric designs?

If I'm not mistaken you took a bronze for this one?

No decals Noel just punched the discs on a thin plastic sheet with Tamiya tape on it, stuck the disc shaped tape where needed, sprayed over the area and peeled off the tape the design in the circles was painted on

If you read the intro, I mentioned that it was my 1st Bronze (and YES still STUCK in the Bronze Age )

Thanks for looking Marco.........well considering that after just one year in the Dark Side I got a Bronze with it at Euro, it wasn't that bad
