These are characters from a comic based [not mistaken italian] on a post 45 war and still the same altered panzers, russian beasts etc etc but with a sci-fi theme!
They hit the market alla grande, especially in the AFV nuts ... I think it shall not be long that we see some locally ... Dust Models Icon_pirat

Not bad but not much imagination, they are mostly tank turrets and bodies on legs. It seems like an idea he borrowed from the first episodes of Star Wars where similar equipment was used. as far as originality goes, he does not get that much points.

dont agree with you brian, the idea here is of an alternate/parallel world during wwii, if you have time to read the idea behind the game you will understand. this is wwii in another dimension. sci fi is full of these weird ideas of multiple dimensions where you have multiple earths all in the same period of time with variations in history.

Alex, i agree with you 100% regarding the thought behind the game and all the parallel world stuff, what i am actually referring to is the hardware itself which up to now is just tank parts and big guns that actually existed or at least are very similar but on legs. That is all i refer to. I know that you love this stuff and hope i did not offend you by this. The movies i can remember with similar hardware is Star Wars, as i already mentioned and also Robocop where the robots they had were also very similar but star wars goes way back i think.

offend me, of coarse not. you know i love to differ, as for star wars even there the ideas where not so original. have you ever noticed the helmets worn by the stormtroopers they are oversized copies of the german ww1 steel helmet, the las guns are modified british sterling submachine guns the medium and heavy lasers are almost identical to the german mg 43 and mg 42 and what about the space craft most are built on model aircraft frames with added details. but this does not mean i do not like them in fact i love them . if it where not for star wars and the earlier star track saga we would not be talking about sci fi.
as for the dust models thats exactly the point. once you see these you immediatly recognise them as being of ww 2 german, russian or us extraction

You should look at the different mecha from the robotech universe, follow these links,

    http://www.xs4all.nl/~ptn/Mecha/mecha.html

    http://www.mahq.net/Mecha/macross/macross.htm

Some of them exist in kit form

parallel/alternate world or not, it is still science fiction, were you can let loose your imagination!!!!
