Reunited - the ambience

Final stages of the diorama, here goes the implements, the road ... believe it or not I spend days searching the net to find styles of cobbled design roads in Petersburg [Leningrad], finally finding a pattern on the Italian style of fan shaped ...





Now to balance off the story ... an implement of war, dragon's teeth [obstraction for tanks] on one side ...



... and the symbol of peace and serenity, a white dove perched on a lamp post scrutinising the happening below, but that is another story

For the sharp eyed there is a duplicated poster [thanks to Photoshop and the Xerox machines at work] of a real cultural event held during the siege in Leningrad [sorry it's in Cyrical], as usual Russians tried to keep morale high though against odds, hunger and climate, and culture and arts were a strategic tool for this. Life went on to the besieged till the day when they won ...

prosit man, if it were in Malta, the pidgeon would have been blown off the lamp with half the fitting too. I love the detail and the paintwork is brilliant.

Thanks Ray as well, was planning to make the trip to the club yesterday but alas I am still not done ... next Wednesday hopefully it should be packed so I doubt it would make it before Euro, due to the restrictions of box, model has to be disassembled - qiesu jigsaw puzzle, hope that by that day it would be packed in the box apart that I have some minor detailing to be said that I am done, if you notice there is still something missing in the dio

It would almost be a shame to put something on that road and cover it up, it's gorgous!!!

Hi guys

thanks as well, base started off as a resin item from Tauro, the gutter and pedestrian area were done from foamboard and milliput. The lamp is a resin item by MIG and the dragon's tooth is also a resin item by an Asian company but forgot the name ... dove is scratch, the leaves are die cut resin items from plusmodel and oregano ... painting was done with modulation technique, certain ares freehand with Vallejo acrylics, filters and MIG pigments ...
