I always wondered, what are those 2 small rectanglar doors under the fuselage?? some sort of engine cooling or hot exhaust release?

Those are auxiliary air intake doors to allow additional air in to the engine compartment on the ground during engine run ups..

Nice work and weathering!! Well done.
p.s. - double check about the sidewinders as the Navy and Airforce used different versions of the sidewinders at this time. The Navy AIM-9D/G, while the Airforce AIM-9E. They had the AIM-9B in common at the begining, but that was at an earlier period of the war.

Re: 1/32nd Tamiya F-4 Phantoms
Awesome detail and paintjob on the rockets and especially on those landing gears.
Well done
P.S. Since I'm new in this forum I don't know if anyone have done this or not, but the following, in my opinion should be an interesting paintjob for a modeller, for a variation, instead of a military paint-scheme,a show paintscheme could be an alternative.
I took these photos back in 2005 airshow, I thought to share with you, maybe someone would be interested

Re: 1/32nd Tamiya F-4 Phantoms
Proximo, Skyhigh, thanks for the compliments, I try to take photos best I can, I have a whole collection from all the airshows that have been done in Malta since the begining at park 8 also other military and commercial movements around the years.
Adrian, that was an airshow departure I won't forget either, especially the low pass of that mirage over park 4 (over our heads) exactly on takeoff. Photo below says it all
