here are some pics of the finished LCU's and LCAC'S which will be incorporated in the diorama project. Please bear in mind that these subjects are only 3 inches long....Regretfully no pics taken to show construction and detail work before they were painted..

Re: USS WASP LHD 1
Nice amphibians Nan ... what you need are some AMTRACS and special forces humvees to fill those LCUs...
Nan in what timeframe are you placing this beauty as US Marine AMTRACS had some changes around 2003, mainly uparmour, if you search images from GulfWar 1 and 2 you see the difference and not all were sand ... not sure if they used to hold Bradleys aswell ...

Wow nan, xi gmiel!!!!! You are always outdoing yourself, what lovely minute detail work. They look fantastic, i think that they are the most impressive of all these tiny models you are making, truly awesome, the detail is so precise even in such close up shots. You are fantastic!!!

Gonna be interesting, Lou just note that if you are using M60A3 [which should be with reactive armour] you are restricting to GulfWar 1 or before, infect only one unit of Marines during GW1 were given the new M1A1 HAs and if not mistaken the change was done on land, this unit was the famed one that inihalated a unit of T72s from the Saladin Division when they tried to enter Saudi. Nowadays Marines use M1s but these are not normally onboard amphibian carriers but surely would fit on the hovercrafts. Sorry to nitpick but again it's for accuracy sake and you now how many armchair generals there are outside there on US military material ...
On another note M60A3 were and are still used by the Egyptian army [which sports an interesting colourful camo http://www.miniafv.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/01-17-222x180.jpg] and it was common that they had exercises between the two armies especially after GW1. I remember when WASP paid a visit it had just came from such an exercise and was loaded with Special Foces HUMVEEs and Mutts + AAV7 AMTRACS.

Re: USS WASP LHD 1
Lou not sure from what ship these were loaded but I think these help ... from the hats of the soldiers in digicamo they look marine + afv crew.
On Landing ships inside the ship ...
I guess as we discussed with Harold it depends the exercise the ships are involved in, what arsenal they have inside ... will await for further info ...
This image is taken from the WASP : ) The load is an M1 Abrams on the Hovercraft
And this a WASP tour somwhere it also has an M1 inside ...
