Re: Space Models
Skyhigh it would be my pleasure to exhibit some of my models sometime in the future in your exhibitions, but I do not know if my models do fall under your exhibits rules as most of my models were bought readymade and the ones which were in kit form were built by my Dutch friend. I would also have loved to do some of the kits myself but my spare time is very limited indeed.
I have been to your exhibitions for a few times these last few years and the models on display are of the highest quality. One thing I noticed is that there is a lack of interest in Real Space related models.
At the moment I am concentrating my collection mostly on the US related space program models but in the near future I would also like to start collecting from the Soviet Space Program.
I will be posting some more models later on.
I am adding a link of my Facebook page of my Real Space Models

Re: Space Models
Good morning,
I would still exhibit them as most of them as scratch built no?? (Like the Saturn 5 Apollo engine. Yes you are buying them ready made but they are still scratch built.
I personally think that they will be a highlight in our exhibition!!
What do you think.

Re: Space Models
i am pretty sure that if you organize a section devoted to your models, they will really attract attention. We need diversity in models. People get fed up seeing the same stuff every year.

Re: Space Models
RealSpace Models 1:72 Scale Gemini 12 with Agena
Gemini 12 (Gemini XII) was a 1966 manned spaceflight in NASA's Project Gemini. It was the 10th and final manned Gemini flight, the 18th manned American flight and, including X-15 flights over 100 kilometres, the 26th spaceflight of all time. At the completion of the previous Gemini flight, the program still had not demonstrated that an astronaut could work easily and efficiently outside the spacecraft. In preparation for Gemini 12 new, improved restraints were added to the outside of the capsule, and a new technique—underwater training—was introduced, which would become a staple of future space-walk simulation. Aldrin's two-hour, 20-minute tethered space-walk, during which he photographed star fields, retrieved a micrometeorite collector and did other chores, at last demonstrated the feasibility of extravehicular activity. Two more stand-up EVAs also went smoothly, as did the by-now routine rendezvous and docking with an Agena which was done "manually" using the onboard computer and charts when a rendezvous radar failed. The climb to a higher orbit, however, was cancelled because of a problem with the Agena booster. Gemini 12 was designed to perform rendezvous and docking with the Agena target vehicle, to conduct three extra-vehicular activity (EVA) operations, to conduct a tethered station keeping exercise, to perform docked maneuvers using the Agena propulsion system to change orbit, and demonstrate an automatic re-entry.

Re: Space Models
What an Awesome 2013 exhibition you all organized.
It was a pleasure for me to meet some of the Club's members and would like to thank you all for your warm welcome.
I was also very impressed with all the finely crafted models.
I hope that next year I will add some Real Space Model theme to your exquisite exhibition.

David I am sure that they will attract a lot of interest especially among young children and science enthusiasts alike.
I will be attaching some literature with every model displayed in order to help the visitors understand what they are viewing.

Very nice! Prosit!
Regarding the caption... excellent idea! In my opinion every model on exhibit should have a very brief (5cm x 5cm) caption describing it's history.

Re: Space Models
Thanks guys for the warm welcome. My models are all except one packed for the journey to Birmingham. I will leave the F1 engine to the end as it's a fragile model.
I would like to ask if there will be a 13 amp plug in the vicinity of my models?

Space Models Exhibits

All set, it was a pleasure meeting some of the members, I was impressed at the help I was given by members present at the venue and a special thanks goes to Hubert for helping me carrying them to the venue with his own car, a true friend indeed. I would like to thank all at SSM for hosting my Real Space Models and I hope that my models will enhance this event.
