Sorry Wayne it is not a mk 5 but a mk 7.One simple and obvious difference between the seats is the parachute pack. In the mk5 it is a 'softpack', the parachute is in a canvas inverted u shape bag while in the mk 7 the chute is in a 'hardpack',the chute being partly enclosed in a rigid U shaped box. The least to be done is to address this area!! Other than this, the top of the seat where the drogue chute is a bit different and the cushion layout which is a minor thing.
Also bear in mind that there are different variation of mk.5 and mk.7 seats to accomodate different aircraft.
p.s. - Paul and Ray, this time I will side with and support Marco, it is important to get the right ejection seat variant, just as much as getting the right colors and markings. After all ejection seats are prominent part of modern aircraft cockpits.
I HUMBLY APOLOGIZE & RE AFFIRM & PLEA MY SSM INDUCTION VOWS of 1986 (the year I joined SSM) WITH MARCO'S BELIEFS

Re: 1/32nd F-8E Crusader
this weekend progress was a little bit slow beacause i was locked up at Mater Dei but i manged to 'convert' the ejector seat, finished deatailing the Emergency Power Compartment, and since i needed another two Zuni rockets, i decided to do all four of them so that there will be uniformity on all four rockets. I succeeded in finishing the first one.sorry about the quality of the photos.
speaking of Zuni rockets, i found a photo that the port and starbord mountings of these rockets were different from each other. Marco, this is for you now, was this standard or what? look to the photos below.
according to these two photos both side mountings look the same.

Nice work mate!
Marco's (and my) 109s are still on their way from china. They left there on the 18th and I suspect that the strikes in Frankfurt have affected delivery.
Hopefully they will arrive soon

Re: 1/32nd F-8E Crusader
this is the last sub assembly before joining the fuselage halves. a lot of detail was needed in there, and it's a pitty that a lot of it will be hidden by the wings.
one zuni rocket left to be scratch built.
