It is Alclad Candy time!!!

A new week begins at SpotModel, featuring the availability of the Candy transparent paints from Alclad. A total of 11 shades plus the metallic base, perfect for simulating the complex colors of most of the current F1 & GTs.

Welcome back to SpotModel Newsletter! Suppose you're assembling a WRC and you want to make the bucket seats look as realistic as possible, what would you do? Or maybe you're finishing the interior of a gorgeous red italian sports car and you want the mats to be hiper realistic, how would you solve it? Or the steering wheel of that F1 that isn't looking as real as you'd like, how would you improve it?...

Don't get crazy, 'flocking' is the answer to your prayers. It is a hyper thin colored powder that will give you what you're looking for, once applied over a thin layer of white glue

On top of that, three new decorations from Shunko for Revell's DTM BMW M3 have just hit our shelves, as well as the first decorations from Studio27 for Aoshima's Toyota Celica (that, by the way, will also be available at Spotmodel in a few weeks). While it arrives, some of Fujimi's references requested by you have arrived sooner than expected and they are also available right now

“Pedals are there to smash on them...

...if you release the gas is just to smash on the brakes in the last second, and if you release the brakes is just to go full throttle”. This and many other pearls of wisdom (“F**cking goat!”) were from a famous world rally pilot whose kit is just about to arrive any second from Aoshima, amongst the whole bunch of Fujimi references that keep comming from the Far East. Look closely, as you all know we're talking about our dearly beloved Carlos Sainz and his Toyota Celica ST165 which thrilled us all during the eighties. My god, it's gorgeous!

But let's get serious with some of the other interesting arrivals from Japan, like the Matra MS120 in 1/20 scale and the BRM H-16 in 1/43 scale from Model Factory Hiro, which also announces a new issue of Joe Honda books.

Talking about F1 in 1/43, in a few days we're also expecting the arrival of three new references of the Surtees TS9 y TS9B from This Way Up and, with that nice european scent, Pit Wall arrives with the transkit to convert SimilR Pescarolo Judd kit to 2009 version, Tameo with 1984 Ferrari 126 C4-M2, and Revell with the reedition of the awesome VolksWagen Karman Guia in 1/16 scale.

We've seen stars...

...and not because we hit really hard in the head!!! :DThe PitWall transkit for the Pescarolo kit from SimilR has finally arrived, and we literally saw stars when we opened the box ;)Usually, PitWall decals are the best of the best you can actually find on the market, but this time they've really pushed the bar even higher. It has color gradients, fluorescent highlights and a few other flourishes, but the stars and metals strips that change their tones and shine differently depending on the view angle are just AWESOME!. A real wonder that deserves a fully detailed post in SpotModel's blog very soon

There's no way!!!

There's no way to be peaceful and quiet: the load of Celicas from Aoshima has come and, not only it's gone in a few days (don't panic, another huge shipment is on it's way), but on top of that Reji announces the Carlos Sainz's decals for precisely that kit...

But it goes even further, since Scale Productions in still unloading in our warehouse, now with the new rims, as awesome as always. And when you finish drooling with the rims, here comes their transkits, incredibly manufactured but in veeeeeeeeery short runs (some of them even under 15 units), so if you stop a second to breathe it can already be gone...

And in top of that, a HUGE list of Le Mans decals from Renaissance...

And if that's not enough, the new decals from Racing Decals 43 (do NOT miss the ones for the Daytona Z4)...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm...

The secret of every good stew is quite simple: lots of first-class ingredients. And this week we have a succulent one... Do you want to know the recipe?

First add (to your taste ) a few bunches of the Montecarlo Rally decals by Renaissance, available at your kitchen pantry in a few weeks.

Then add three very very fresh pieces of the Alfa Romeo 179 announced by Studio27, cut in 1/20 scale, and lightly fry them with the tasty Model Factory Hiro books about the McLaren. Slowly add the Surtees from This Way Up minced to 1/43 scale and the Ferrari F500 from Tameo (stirring carefully), and finaly spice up with the colourful DTM M3 decals.

At the table, we finally marry all this with the new acrylics from Tamiya and the chrome colors from Alclad, and...

¡¡Bon appétit!!

It's springtime!

Spring weather is finally arriving to our latitude, and with it our wharehouse is blooming with a thousand shades thanks to the arrival of a new shipment from Zero Paints, perfect to give that touch of color to your kits

We have Benetton, Lola, Sauber and Michelin blues, as well as McLaren MP4-12C purple pearl, Sauber C14 dark blue and Tamiya TS58-like pearl light blue.

In the yellow ranges, we have... almost all! Brembo yellow, Jordan yellow, Minardi yellow, Michelin yellow, Benetton yellow...

FUJIMI sashimi!

Here's a guess: they have a delicious taste, they come from Japan, they're small and precise, their manufactoring is extremely delicate and patient, they come in eight-pack or more, and they taste much better when dipped

Of course, you guessed it: they're the newly arrived FUJIMI kits!!

There are flavours for every taste, from classic F1 to modern F1, sport cars, Le Mans prototypes, ... or even order your own assorted tray, including some of the Scale Production details to wrap it. Add your favourite paint and a bit of wasabi putty, and you're done!

23rd on 14th at the 24: the Porsche 917K

Back in 1970, in June 14th to be precise, a guardian red bodywork with modern white stripes and number 23 at the sides passed first under the chequered flag at Le Mans circuit. It was none other than the Porsche 917K, with hundreds of horses pushing hard under the hood, getting his well-deserved reward after 24 exhausting hours under heavy rain pushing the limits on each one of the 6860 corners of that race...

Now in 2014, in April 30th to be precise, a red box with a modern design and the reference MFH-K400 at the sides arrives to SpotModel wharehouse. It's none other than the kit of the Porsche 917K winner of Le Mans race on June 14th 1970 by Model Factory Hiro, in 1/24 scale, with hundreds of pieces included under the lid. It's really a well-deserved reward to be enjoyed EVEN MORE if it's raining outside, that pushes the limits of precision moulding on each one of the pieces

2About time!!!! Alonso's Ferrari for this year is NOW available, only in 1/43 scale, and if you add on top of that Senna's Toleman and Peterson's Lotus Type 78... you get a kick-ass triplet! Thank you Tameo!

Talking about spanish pilots, we also have Carlos Sainz's decorations for the Toyota Celica at the Montecarlo and RAC rallies (...and we're jumping with joy!), and also in the rally department, Studio 27 announces new decorations for the Montecarlo Alpine and the Portugal Rally 037 cars, while Tabu releases two gorgeous decorations for the GTR Long Tail, and Shunko gives the green light to a couple of decals for the Yamaha TZ250 and the 1966 Le Mans Ford GT40.

And... Sorry, I forgot something... what was it?... Of course! The VW Polo WRC! It's official: we'll have the VW Polo WRC kit straight from Belkits at the same price as his Skoda Fabia, but... you'll have to wait until the end of the year for the arrival of the first units. «The ground was shaking, the car was flying...»

Not so long ago I went to the Circuit of Jerez speedtrack, and during the visit I could speak for a long time with one of the track marshals. One of the many questions I asked him was: «What has been the most amazing vehicle you've seen racing in this track?» And he didn't hesitate one second to answer: «1988 Spanish Grand Prix, coming out from corner 6 (Dry Sack), Ayrton Senna going full throttle on the McLaren MP4/4... I've never ever seen anything like that. The ground was shaking, the car was flying...». Twenty six race years later, and that means A LOT of races at Jerez, those words sounded glorious ;-)

And glorious as well is the reproduction just launched by Model Factory Hiro in 1/12 scale of the MP4/4 that run in Jerez. Perfect resins, mechanized and anodized rims, hundreds of photoetches and white metal pieces... Awesome! :-O

Scuderia Italia.Lab is more than a small resin kits brand: is the one of the bests in the European market when it comes to resin rally car kits. Who doesn't remember that R5 or the Clio Maxi? Those are two discontinued although avidly searched pieces, and people pay little fortunes for getting one of them.

This brand don't have many references, just a few, but the kits they release are REALLY interesting, very detailed and have awesome part listings. During these days, their Group B Toyota Celica TA64 kit have arrived in four different versions, and once again they've left us completely astonished... That's a helluva kit!!!

These kits FLY OFF THE SHELVES.
And they get discontinued IN A MATTER OF WEEKS.

24 Heures du Mans

The 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world's most famous endurance race, is about to begin once again this weekend. Will it be another victory from the invincible Audi? Or will Toyota rise up to the challenge? Or will Porsche achieve a crushing victory in their return to the french tarmac?

During the 70's, Porsche swept his competition off Le Mans with the 917 Long Tail, and Model Factory Hiro wants to reminisce those days with the edition of TWO astonishing versions of the Long Tail in 1/12 scale. Fancy one?

Look at that ass!!

C'mon, you have to admit it: 911 ass turns you on. The guys at Tamiya serves them with the whale tail rear spoiler, and now Reji brings us the butts we were all waiting for: the duck tail  and the ironing table of the 934/5, along with some transkits with decals and spoilers to make Le Mans versions. I love these butts!!
