Conversion - 30 years war

Slight facial changes I have removed original beard and added my, own, I am not totally happy with that and intend to do more, added the tach as well, also added extra height to the figures left side of the head to make the hat tilt a little more flamboyantly to the right.

Torso changed from original I have removed all traces of the gathered shirt and have begun a light cotton shirt to go under a velvety slit doublet, maybe a gourget big frilly lace collar.

So masses to do but I feel good basis to work on from here

Hi Guys here is a slight update, I still have loads more to do, but here is the start of the torso

Interesting aproach for the clothing, very good idea especially for the braiding, I remember Ray utilising leadfoil for garments and really gives a good result.

The face is really capturing the timeframe, well done Dave ... will you sport him with a brimhat or a helm?

Yes, the lead sheet lends itself really well to certain clothing. however I purchased a sheet of pewter from Euro as well because sometimes I don't find the desired tickness in the lead sheet that I have for certain items.

Hi Guys

Just a small update, a little more to the Torso, and the hat has been done, I have to lower the hat on the head a little more, but I want to keep the flamboyance of the era, there is so much to do as of yet including the collar the rest of the jacket, the sleeves, belts and buckles, strapping around the hat, maybe a gourget then the final braiding on the jacket, and the jewellery and of course the hair, which will change the appearance massively........ but not much really, I also have to let the texture on the hat settle down as well as its a little full at the moment, but it will add thickness to the felt, when I add more primer to it.

Thanks for the comments, here is just a little update to this as I have been trying my hand at other things getting ready for a massive painting session, so here we are, just a couple of little items to make the buckle, one or two bits of jewellery and the leather hatband.......

Its in base colours and primer to see if there are any imperfections that need sorting out

I am sorry I haven’t been back on here in a while, just haven’t had the time, I have been fighting with this piece to get it right, I painted the face four times to get it better than the last one, then struggled painting the torso twice, good job I paint figures in subassemblies. I still have loads of work to do to it, the hair buttons feathers the rest of the hat, complete clean up and a going over to tidy any loose ends and add more detail. Anyway let me know what you think....
