Did you paint the white border free-hand by brush? ...I'm assuming yes....

With what did you dilute the Lifecolour paints for spraying...ordinary water? Have some of their paints and I'm itching to try them...

Can you freely mix Lifecolour and Vallejo paints? I'm assuming yes if they are both diluted with water...

IMHO IF the source of info ON WHATEVER, WAS/IS considered as "BIBLE" by many reviewers, readers, modellers, artists, experts, then that source shall be followed/referred to IRRELEVANT of any BW photos, which IMHO become superficial if enough evidence (from the source) is provided again IMHO.

While each and everyone of us have the right to say/see/hear whatever he/she wants, I am IGNORING (I have the right I guess) as from now, (tghid inzomma) any DEBATES of this KIND because I am not INTELLIGENT ENOUGH to VISUALIZE BW pics in my brain

WOW!!!! What a barrage!

My opinion:

a) I trust Alex and his source (Mike Stramer) is the Bible of British camo.

b) The jeep in the B&W photo. Look at the wheels and you will see two different blacks:

The wall of the tyre looks black but the part in contact with sand and dust is much lighter and similar to the shade on the camo.

c) Marco, the colour picture you posted is an impression and opinion of the artist. I have the colour plate but the author of the book does not describe the colour of the tank. He says that it is similar to a Crusader tank which was probably painted Terracotta or black. Black was a common colour the British used.

d) Nobody can tell 100% the colour in the B&W photo. However, we will rely on Mike Stramer who is the best source and go with what he says.....Black!

Yes... the white (Ivory actually, of Vallejo) was hand painted and thinned with water and done in several layers.

I did not dilute the paint!!! But I on other spray jobs I used tap water. Beautiful paints!!

I mix Lifecolor and Vallejo Air with no problem. Since Vallejo was slightly thicker, I added some water here.

Kids? I sold them for scientific experiments!

I would think twice before challenging cousin Alex (aka Sandro) on any british related topic....Trust me on this....
