What you did is a simple basic airbrush work of transitition of colours merging into each other and leaving the underside quite drab.

I'm not saying it's not nice but I would have expected more from you.

Noel, I appreciated/appreciate your opinion like all the others' believe me, but as I said earlier, as she is now she is too awkward to handle, let alone mask off for any other pattern except that what is visible.

TanKRed gave me a book on airbrush techniques and the last chapter is the same subject at hand. The modeller did spray an actual butterfly pattern, but he sprayed the wings flat out on a flat surface where he could mask off almost everything so easily. Then he assembled her after everything was ready, which is not a very decent job as he left the connecting lugs at the back very visible. Remember that I have everything fixed on, plus the hair is done the way it is done, which makes handling and masking even more awkward.

Speaking of striking butterfly patterns, I can assure you that I scrutinized numerous pics, much more then the few you posted, so rest assured that there are much more butterfly patterns then the ones you came up with, and there are butterfly patterns, which have [a simple basic airbrush work of transitition of colours merging into each other] so while I am not saying that it is an actual pattern, it is a pattern my mind conjured based on so much exposure of butterfly colours and patterns

Re [and leaving the underside quite drab.] I still have to find someone, both locally and foreign who called the underside drab infact I got mostly praised for the choice of colours so I would rather modify your statement [that would have made us go "WOW!"] to "that would have made me go WOW" because as I said earlier, it is only you who has not gone WOW yet

Without sounding defensive like MOST (ME included ) who get criticised or sounding big headed, which ALL of you know I am not, that [simple basic airbrush work] you spoke about was done in acrylics which I have never sprayed with before, and which I am sure you are familiar with their obstinate behaviour in doing a simple camo job, let alone work as if you are spraying a mottle camo

Anyway Noel, I'll do my best to get you in the WOW factor when she is ready
