After that, a spot of masking and the first coats of green where applied:
Next up is shading the green areas and removing the masking... hopefully I get a nicely feathered demarcation line. Fingers crossed

Praying for that nicely feathered demarcation line

Try & cut a paper template of that curvature, affix it with blu tack & lightly spray away from & over the edge
Judging from the pics, you need to retouch the lower colour first, then apply the upper colour in "my way/suggestion"
Hope it helps & Good Luck

Ray,
That is exactly the technique I used. You can see the paper template fixed to the plane in a previous post. I think the blu-tak marbles might have been too thick in some places resulting in the over-spray!
This is a learning process for me. Worst case, the bird does not get to fly with me to Telford.

I'm sorry for I don't know anymore
However don't start to PANIC just yet as you have AMPLE time to correct & address whatever is needed to get this bird in his birdcage & MAKE him fly to Telford with you
Wise Words indeed up to & MOSTLY on the spraying technique so GO FOR IT Wayne like The True Kraut you arebcauchi wrote:Wayne don't give up, these things take time, go over the offensive area and do it again. All you need to do is go over the blue and the green again. Don't worry even if the shade is not perfect, at this time of the war, everything was acceptable and i am sure that nothing was perfect. I never use blue tac but hold the paper next to the model with one hand and spray with the other. The paper has to be nearly touching the model and make sure that the airbrush is at 90 degrees to the part being sprayed. Over 90 deg. no feathering, 90 degrees perfect feathering, less than 90 deg. the paint goes under the paper and you get too much feathering. So try it out again, it is only one area of the model.
