Brian pls keep it in mind, that this is the latest 109 build... so we try to make the best out of it..bcauchi wrote:Marco you are right, there was some extra superglue which made that corner look thick, i removed it but you have to be careful it is holding the aluminium sides to the plastic and the brass so if i remove too much, the whole thing will dismantle. i had to have a compromise here but i thinned down the aluminium sides so it all looks neater now.

Re: Bf109 F4 Trop.
Wheel wells finally done, took a whole 5 days to put that photoetch in place. There is some of my work too, the sill on the edge of the opening and the actuating pistons which are visible through the openings in the straight part. One has the canvas cover and the other hasn't. this will give you an idea of the detail which will be lost when covered by the canvas. However, it is unthinkable to have an exposed wheelbay in the desert without the cover with all the sand which can get into the works.

Ray I just followed instructions, nothing to my merit. But it is accurate and that's what counts. But thanks for the compliment. It will look good when painted.

I know Bri, but it takes "some" skill to apply PE so don't fish for complimentsbcauchi wrote:Ray I just followed instructions, nothing to my merit. But it is accurate and that's what counts. But thanks for the compliment. It will look good when painted.
Joking apart, definitely it will all pop out when painted & finished

Re: Bf109 F4 Trop.
Thanks Marco glad you like them. I spent over 2 hours yesterday filling in the unwanted panel line and wing inspections so now the wings are done. Undercarriage next. Then the rear part of the cockpit, then the canopy, then the prop........

Re: Bf109 F4 Trop.
I have started thinking about painting and i need the tank guys to tell me how to produce a dust effect on the surface of the model. I intend weathering it nicely for the desert.

Re: Bf109 F4 Trop.
Undercarriage is done, i am trying to go through all the construction work so that then i can start painting and getting the plane together.
Wheels are true details, don;t really like them but that's what i bought i am afraid. They are overdone and the bulging of the wheel is exaggerated. Would have been better with less bulge. The rest is my doing.

Re: Bf109 F4 Trop.
I wonder what comments i will get and what i have to re-do. I've done this for all my other 109's all four or five of them and they always passed the scrutiny but this time he is really going through it with a fine comb.
