Looks like a nice recovery so far, hopefully it won't take anywhere close to
a month to replicate what you did.

Re: Two Me 163 komets
Some more pics. The left hand side of the cockpit is ready and i started the other side. You can see the fuse box and wiring. All the cockpit is scratchbuilt except for the floor and sides and the trim wheel which i used from the kit.

Tal genn, Brian!
You should throw 1 Euro in the cockpit. Those buttons are extra tiny and in one straight line!
I'm assuming that with the canopy open, a lot of this detail will be visible.

Re: Two Me 163 komets
Thanks Noel, yes it should all be visible, the canopy will be opened, it opens to one side and the pit is quite wide so there should be a good view.

Re: Two Me 163 komets
All the cockpit detail is ready. I will now work on the instrument panel and then the entire pit is done. i replaced some of the detail i had done because i got some new pics and finished off the rest, basically more plumbing and wiring, the joystick and the rudder pedal installation in place.

Wow, Brian! Tal genn man!
Very bust cockpit and very detailed too!
I really like that flexible tube. And what is that red wire with a black tip for?

Re: Two Me 163 komets
Thanks for the comment Noel. That red wire was a flexible cable with a connector at the end to be connected to the pilot's headgear for radio communication. when painted it will be coiled and laid down on the side console. Yes, i never thought there was so much detail in that cockpit, somehow, when you look at pics it looks pretty bare.

I think you made a do-do.
I asked Brian about the red wire with a black tip and he kindly answered me in full!
As for the coiled wire... I just said I like it!

Re: Two Me 163 komets
Hi guys ara ma tiggieldux ta'!! The coiled thick pipe is the oxygen feed to the pilot's mask. It has a black connector at the end and will also be left lying on the side which happens to be one of the fuel tanks. Oddly enough in this strange but beautiful machine, the pilot sat slap bang between two fuel tanks. The fuel was so corrosive to organic material that it immediately dissolved skin if it came into contact with it and one small drop of one of the fuels on the other caused an instant explosion. Many of these planes just blew up when standing on the ground all fuelled up for the next mission. The pilot was actually flying a bomb. What guts!!

Sorry man, kemm jien tuba, ma fhimt xejn!! that is one of the things i bought from a haberdashery. It is a piping or lining of some sort used in clothing. I bought a coil of it. It is amazing what a lot of interesting and useful things you can find in a good haberdashery. At least it kills the boredom till the wife does her shopping. Re: Two Me 163 komets
Awesome work Brian... blows away any aftermarket resin/photoetch. Nothing beats a well executed scratch job and you're the master!
