Incidentally, i did not find the steel wire. Stil have not lost hope but i might have used it somewhere and forgotten where i used it. i will get it to you if i find it.

While on the subject of piano wire or very thin steel wire, if anyone knows where to buy from please let us know as I too have been long out of stock. Do music instrument shops sell this thing? It is piano wire after all?

Solved the problem....got some insulin hypodermic thingie .... 
...snapped off the front end...as the needles don't come off like the ones which are commonly used.....burnt the plastic away and presto ...a very fine whip aerial...
Now for the hull aerials Have to improvise something else...as these are ok for the island but too short for hull aerials...

Here's the island finished...lights included....a nightmare fitting the island to the deck but with the help of my able partner (Rina)
