Maybe the flat top building is ideal, especially balcony area ... but again that is a personal taste. Another idea is a large billboard promoting USA warbonds, that can be pasted on any wall and size does not matter ...

Thank you for the compliment Ray, but this background thinking comes from the master thinking himselfand from my field of work logistics, when you work for marketing and communication you start thinking as the man in the street, something that I think we overlook in our tiny world ... dioramas are one of the best sources of communication and something I am grateful to Shep and also to Marijn van Gils and MIG teaching, something all of them stress out is if from first impact the message has to be 100% clear and not leave the viewer make his own judgement or read captions.

Why do i keep on telling you that it is your best work so far. I guess that you are actually getting better. There is so much to see and so many things going on that it takes a long time to take it all in. It is absolutely brilliant. No words can do it justice, a modelling masterpiece!!

Awesome work Pec...truly a veteran master modeller! Go ahead with wartime posters as Ivan suggested...I'm sure the dock wa full! To go a step further (maybe too late now) maybe even graffiti would have been a good idea...

The name plate will also denote that the ship is in NYC Before leaving for Europe....

This is an absolutely fantastic diorama, something rarely seen with ships, especially at this size. There is so much intricate detail, and I keep going back over the photos to take it all in.

I don't believe the boxcars for the train are correct though, they have the curved roof and the bumpers on each end of the car which were on European train equipment, train equipment in the States never had that. The couplers would jolt together and automatically lock and each side of the roofs were angled slightly, each side beating flat with a walkway on top.

Thanks for your kind comments...never knew that about the boxcars and I did the couplings as well and those bumpers were such a nuisance to put on ....could have saved me a lot work
