Thanks Ray. I followed your collective advice and highlighted them more, and yes they got better.

Even more IMPRESSIVE in their unpainted state as one can appreciate the SMALL SIZE of these gems........can you place something next to them, even your thumb would do so that whoever is not aware of size/scale would appreciate them more?
Keep them coming..........

I think that for their size, the detail is truly impressive. You are doing a great job painting them.

Re: Teutonic knights in 1:72 scale
@Brian & Joseph. Thanks mates I'm trying my hands on a scale which for reasons unknown to me has always remained in the shadow, probably due to the low quality of the past. Nowadays the quality as one can see has improved 100 times fold. I'm really enjoying myself and hope that this will be the first of a series.
The subject of the diorama is grouping of the troops before the Battle of Peipus, or something on those lines.

Keep them coming Ray
These gems are ideal to create dioramas especially those involving a good number of figures in a limited space, just remember what van Gils managed to create with 1/350 and a 54mil last year!

Wow, man, considering their size, you are really getting good at this, i suppose you still have excellent eyesight, those figures are beautifully painted, well done, they are even better than the first two you put up. great work.

Prosit Ray, if not for the matchstick you could not tell these are so minute! Or have you enlarged the matchstick?

Re: Teutonic knights in 1:72 scale
Thank you for your comments, I really appreciate your interest.
Brian unfortunately my eyesight is getting worse by the day. If it wasn't for the Opticron which I use over the reading specs, I wouldn't even think of painting such a minute scale.

Re: Teutonic knights in 1:72 scale
Can someone recommend me a good matt varnish, as I'm painting Bishop von Tartu and whatever I do the red caparison and cloak keep drying to a gloss finish. I think it's due to the GW washes I'm using.

Re: Teutonic knights in 1:72 scale
Last I dropped in Khobbies he had the Paebeo varnish out of stock [x'kien!!!!!!!], so as it was a last minute urgency I went for the Vallejo Matt Varnish and worked quite well both on acrylics and oils ...

Re: Teutonic knights in 1:72 scale
Thanks Guys. I will check at KHobbies.
I tried using thinned Tamiya matt medium (the one we add to valleyo paints to flat them down) but everything turned white when dry!

Re: Teutonic knights in 1:72 scale
I think I will have to opt for a vignette not a diorama as time is pressing and I don't like two of the finished mounted knights. I am thinking of a vignette made up of a Grtand Master, Standard bearer and a sergeant, obviously in a snowy setting. If I'll be lucky, I will finish the knight being helped to mount his horse.

Re: Teutonic knights in 1:72 scale
Hi Bros!
The vignette of the Teotonic Knight being helped to mount his horse is ready except for the groundwork, which will be straw, kindly provided by Joseph F. Sorry no photos, but will bring it to the club tomorrow. I sill haven't thought of a good title, so if you can help, I would appreciate.
