Just an observation.

The guy seems to be wearing the 'Pour Le Merite' award around his neck.  This is the equivalent of the WWII Knights Cross, one of the highest awards.

As far as I know in WWII only Rommel had this award displayed together with the Knights Cross.  He received the Pour Le Merite of some bravery thing during WWI.

As you can see from the pics the edge is Gold..... I can't see exactly how you painted your... assuming it's the Pour Le Meritr.

Yes Noel I assume it is the Pour Le Merite as even Werner Voss had it, Manfred Von Richtofen as well (since this is his torso  ) & I think all WWI Aces had it, that is earned it    

It is impossible to see the edge in gold because it is just a subdued hairline & ESPECIALLY since as I said they are CRAPPY PICS where everything is DIFFUSED I'm afraid

Thanks mate re your mixes as I already mentioned you in the 1st MORE LOUSY Pics post  

The LVG is an Epic in Miniature as I said before, so Lt.Weymar had to wear his BEST uniform for the photographer

["Some minor flaws aside      and not having painted anything in the last 7 months      I'm quite satisfied with the result as he's looking quite a Dandy    

Special Thanks to Stephen for providing me with invaluable points re sculpting the folds on the right arm & mostly for providing me with the paint mixes for jacket & breeches & saving me time from looking for mine (which he also gave me when I painted Werner & Richtofen) under ALL my SURROUNDING RUBBLE....My God the paint bottles KEEP closing the distance to land on my lap    

The coat's mix was the same basic mix as the breeches, but darkened a bit more & then highlighted with Ochre instead of Confederate Grey to give a different tone  "]
