And how did the overall folds unfold ?
Started adding volume on the left sleeve now for the "coat" effect

I still think he can't be standing on one foot ... on a narrow wheel with one hand in pocket and leaning slightly backwards without supporting himself!
...or am I missing something?

You might not be missing anything Noel & you might be right...who knowsNoel Petroni wrote:I still think he can't be standing on one foot ... on a narrow wheel with one hand in pocket and leaning slightly backwards without supporting himself!

However & since we can't see where his other arm is (hope he wasn't one armed ) we MUST consider that these pilots were as agile as cats since they were teens & built like long distance runners (heap of bones & little flesh ) & it is not so narrow a wheel after all, and he is holding/keeping a "tight grip" (by the back of the knee) against the leading edge of the wing 8)and he went up there for a very short time....just enough time for the pic to be snapped & he JUMPED back ASAP (sakemm m'ghamilx xi siegh joffendi lill-fotografu ghax damlu )
That is my (& ALL's s'issa) conception of that event how it might have happened
Hope the overall tweaking & well balanced & proprtioned Lt.Weymar would overcome his BALANCING ACT

Re: LVG's Lt.Weymar
Sorry Ray, don't get offended, but I don't buy it!
Sorry Ivan, I don't agree with you here regarding artistic license. For me, artistic license is when you add something out of the ordinary but still conforms to the art piece. A badly leaning figure defying gravity is not artistic license.
Issa......... I really think he is using his right hand to support his balance. If he is not using support than he MUST be in a 90 degree vertical position to the ground not leaning backwards.
True story.

Re: LVG's Lt.Weymar
You may be very right, Marco!!!
So Ray, now that Marco did some homework for you......... you have to make the rigging imbedded in the fabric of his overcoat... I must say it would be a hell of an accomplishment ti achieve.........

Re: LVG's Lt.Weymar
Interesting work ray. I have to agree with Noel and Marco about the pose and it is not a question of artistic licence(there is only a fine line between artistic licence and fiction), agility, young r otherwise. You cannot hold that position without holding or resting against something, especially on one foot and leaning backwards as per the photo. My impression is that he run resting against the rigging, is it possible? Just my 5c

Re: LVG's Lt.Weymar
Noel, if you read some posts before when I explained that I saw the position of the rigging, I EXPLAINED THAT HE MIGHT BE LEANING AGAINST THE RIGGING COMING OUT OF THE CENTRE SECTION
Either or Lt.Weymar will fly to Telford as KUWL as the ACE He was performing his BALANCING ACT

Re: LVG's Lt.Weymar
I don't know what all the fuss is about. You are judging the figure as Ray displayed him on his own doing a balancing act on a tyre. If you see the original photo again, you will notice that he is well supported in at least two places, possibly three. His lower legs are resting against the lower wing and he is resting his back against the rigging. Those are two definite support points. The third but this is unclear might also be the fuselage. If the wheels are close enough, when standing on them he might be resting his left side against the fuselage of the aircraft. I really see nothing strange. The only thing you have to watch out for Ray is that when you place him on the tyre, he cannot be straight but leaning slightly back and this is exactly how you set him up judging by your last photo. I think that unless you see the figure on the plane's wheel where he is meant to be, you cannot judge. You need to see the whole setup not just the figure.

Bravu!!! I've commented twice about his balancing and you never uttered a word until now!Ray wrote:Noel, if you read some posts before when I explained that I saw the position of the rigging, I EXPLAINED THAT HE MIGHT BE LEANING AGAINST THE RIGGING COMING OUT OF THE CENTRE SECTION

Ray, I missed reading the first post where you mentioned the rigging....... didn't see it.......... why didn't you point it out as soon as I commented in my first post........ you made me look stupid!
Next time tell me..."Noel my guess is that he is resting his back on the rigging"...... as if I know that these planes have rigging back there!!!!!! Try to be clear man! Lanqas haq ili nparla!

Re: LVG's Lt.Weymar
Hey, we are ALL grown ups, past 18yrs so WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR OWN ACTS since we're not proven to be suffering from any mental deficiency
Noel, you should have looked before you lept
And having said that, Brian's reasoning that you were judging from a temporary propped up pose on a spare car wheel & not seeing the figure on the actual LVG's wheel, makes sense
I can ASSURE you & everyone else that when Joseph brought the LVG here sans the centre section so we'll position Lt.Weymar, he performed his BALANCING ACT QUITE WELL even WITHOUT ANY RIGGING so RELAX, have a seat & wait for things to unfold a bit more
This BLOWN UP pic, courtesy of Marco which I took from the other thread, prooves at least that he was ONE ARMED
