I really still can't believe that the DIII has PROGRESSED SO FAR, because for quite some time I really wondered if it would be ready for next year's Euro let alone for it's BAPTISM of FIRE in a month's time at Catania pale

Really great work Guz, finally Mr Voss is going to get his ride. Keep posting. Just maybe a silly question, but I am not very fond of the pre WWII era, were swastika's used in WWI?

    Thanks guys,

    The wood effect is decals.

Ironically the swastika was an ancient good luck symbol and I think that's why Voss had it painted on his DIII and had it as his personal emblem.

Yesterday I got the first shot on rigging. These pics show the rigging between the undercarriage. Rigging is monofilament 0.22mm but IMO is a bit thick considering that I still have to paint it. I will try and fit a thinner type of rigging and check which best fits Smile Smile.

Just a note, the turn buckles (the anchoring points for the rigging) are all fixed with 'GATOR GLUE' so I think it really stands for its name Smile

That thing hanging between the UC is a plumb-line.

Excellent work Joseph. your Perfection and attention to detail is exceptional. Those trunbuckles look great and make all the difference. I do think that the filament is a bit thick but it will do if you don;t find an alternative. Joe i use nylon thread which i buy from the haberdashery for the rigging. It is thinner than that but very strong. It can withstand a good tug and tensioning to get it taut. however, you can also use superglue on it. I find it very useful and found it in black or transparent. The advantage here is that you don't need to paint it black.

Brian, the nylon thread you mentioned, is it like the one used for fishing because if the case it is excellent, though I found thinner (0.18mm & 0.20mm) filament (fishing nylon). My only concern is how I will manage to make the rigging using this gauge Smile Smile.
