Oh mate! You are making miracles!!! Personally i prefer your Mgs than those from Aires. Its a very nice way to show how somebody can achieve a very realistic result without breaking his head or buying every after market goodies around.
SKYHIGH? You are a GIGANTIC ENCYCLOPAEDIA!!!! Where did you find these pics? They are Marvellous!

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
That is the gun i used Alex but the rest of the dressing up with details to get it installed in place are all scratchbuilt. the problem are the ammo belts.
Marco, i like your idea of using the ammo blet covers, they are very easy to do but i will still prefer a belt. But that is a great option. I will probably go for that.

i will try to use plastic but i love to use brass for ammo. It will look really nice unpainted with just a wash. If i use plastic, i will have to paint it and i don;t know how it will look but it is worth trying.

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Marco this is the sketch the aircraft armorer drew showing the armament the pilot used on this particular Bf110. As you can see, although this aircraft was a G4, he retained the 4 mg's in the nose as in the earlier models and the oblique firing cannon were 20mm like the ones i made and not 30mm.

Brian Brian Brian.....
Have you never heard of missionmodels? They produce simply awesome turned bass .50 cal ammo...both new and spent...they also come with the PE links to build the chain...
OK they are 1/35 but miles better than those you have made...I have a set but you need more I reckon....
Here is a link...I will get them to the club tomorrow if you want to see them 'live'...

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Beautiful, they are really nice but i think i need quite a number of packets. there are only 25 shells in each packet. where did you buy yours from? It would be nice to see them live. by the way what size are they? I need them to be about 2.5mm long.

Brian, 0.5mm shorter or longer, as long as they look the part, would not make such a difference would it? But then we have the REAL PITTMA to deal with hux
Go for them mate, they would LOOK the part am sure of that even before I see them tomorrow, or rather today

Agree with Ray....
If the choice is a homemade replica which is the EXACT length but doesnt look quite right...and a perfect replica which is a mm shorter I'd go for the second....then again I didnt measure them!
I'll get them tonight and decide Bri...I think I bought them from mission models but I'm sure if you browse around you can find them from a number of European suppliers too....

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Thanks Doc, i am not worried about having them short but if they are too long. they will not fit in the breech of the gun and will look stupid. that is my problem, a bit too short is ok. i will check them out. Thanks again. Ihope that i manage to make it and that nothing crops up as normally does.

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Morn SSM, I know Brian leap frogged me on my Piper thread already, and without looking there yet, I'm commenting on this one as I promised him I would.
Irrelevant of the array of figures that we had yesterday, Brian's craftsmanship to the highest SSM degree as always, STOLE THE SHOW!!!
The fuselage, the guns, the breeches, the ammo box, the gun mountings, all that wiring, springs, nuts and bolts......well you name it and it was there in my hands
AMAZING & INSPIRING to say the least is all I can think of to summarize
Keep them coming brother

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Dave, the bullets should be about 2.5mm long at the most. They don;t have to be that accurately shaped since they are really small and i also need to make the belt which keeps them together so the important thing basically is to have a pointed tip.

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Brian good morn mate.
Just an idea flashed thru.....if things get worse, have you thought of copper/brass nails used in wood shipbuilding like Pa uses? You can cut them off to your lenght's desire with just a light round sanding of the ends.
Modelshop and Khobbies should have them or else a PROFESSIONAL Ironmonger I think should have them.
Good luck
