Wow,
I knew that you would like to see the project ready for launching, but never imagined that your interest exceeded all expectations.
Ok - all of you, keep your hair on.
Heh Heh - The ship will be ready in three years time - for the celebration of the 35th annual Scale model exhibition.
There is also the possibility that we will have the hull of the Prinz Eugen as well, also in 1:72nd scale - by Teddy Mifsud.
So you see Ray - You will not kill me first after all. Heh Heh.
See you this evening Brother.

Hello Ray,
Yes the blow is on it's way and getting closer
Just look at this picture below. The Scharnhorst prior to having it's bows converted.
This is the open observation platform - Look at all that lovely detail - Oh Boy, loads of fun.
Just imagine all the detail which is present in this picture. All has to be copied to the model.
No Hurry and no fret - just do it your way and never look back.

Hi Ivan,
Yes, as a matter of fact they were a bit large. Luckily enough, There is not much left to do except for the searchlight platforms, and another couple of small decks. The unlucky issue is that every navy had it's own pattern. Whilst the Germans had the cross pattern, the Americans and the British ad the diamond pattern, the Italians had the linear pattern, Whilst the Japanese had copied the nonslip pattern from the British, but enlarged it. Adding insult to injury, no manufacturer, produces it as an etch addition. I think the pattern you have is the ones which the Germans used in the AFVs, which was different to the ones used in the Kriegsmarine. The idea of having such big patterns, is to allow water rushing through the pattern, without interfering with the sailors sure footing.

Good afternoon Ivan,
Thanks for the compliment habib, but be rest assured that I am no expert. I only learned as I was on my way through the building process. I had my share of mistakes as well, and maybe, that is the best way of learning as well.
Just right now, I am searching for the detail required for the hull, especially the seacocks and the turbines water cooling inlet and outlets. I have a very detailed drawing of the Bismarck's, and I assume that the Scharnhorst's was on the same principals. But prefer to have a copy of the ship builder's plans.

Nice one Tancred,
Reminds me of my enjoyable younger days - the 80's.
Heh, Heh, Heh, I would like to see the expression on your face when you see the Scharnhorst ready.
