Good morning My SSM Brothers,
Some more progress pics.
An inage from the Kagero 3D book, showing the range finder platform, located just under the admiral's bridge.
The platform under construction.
A view from the underside, revealing the reinforcing members.
Now it's time to construct the hinge arms required the wind breaker fenders, positioned on the admiral's bridge balcony. This Evergreen styrene strip shall be required for the job.
The strip cut up to the correct size.
The first hinge arms in place.
Another view from the rear.

Good morning all,
Thank you all SSM Brothers for your kind compliments. Yesterday, being a holiday, I had some free time to dedicate to the ship, so, I carried out some work.
Here goes.
The side mounted hinge arms for the wind breaker fenders.
A view of the rear side.
The top liner fitted in.
The platform, for the searchlight emplacement, which was located on top of the Admiral's bridge.
The searchlight platform, just placed on top of the bridge, to check for correct fitting.
An elevational view.
Shall be posting more pictures next Monday.

From What I have heard their exhibition was a hopeless flop. Only today I thank my lucky stars as to what happened, and yes I fully agree with you - I wasted 8 years of my life. But that is what is described as life experience my friend, and we have get the utmost out of the worst.
See you all next week.

Good morning to you all my fine SSM Brothers,
Some more progress pictures, related to the construction of the admiral's bridge and the command tower.
Finishing off the copper liners.
The copper lining at the front of the observation balcony.
The planking for the observation balcony, literally soaked in satin clear varnish. This shall enable proper sanding without the fear of touching off the weathered wood. Don't worry boys, the finish shall be as good as ever - just you wait.
The support struts at the underside of the searchlight platform.
The top support structure for the foremast fitted in place.
Starting off with the window panes, required for the admiral's bridge viewing windows.
The first frame.
The full set of frames.
The clear sheet to be used for the window panes.
The first five panes cut to size.
The first five panes in place.
A liner fitted temporarily fitted to ensure the correct and linear fitting of the window frames.
The front frames in place.
An elevational view of the admiral's bridge.

Hello Cyril,
The ship was built at the Kriegsmarinewerft dockyard in Wilhelmshaven; she was laid down on 15 June 1935 and launched a year and four months later on 3 October 1936. Completed in January 1939, the ship was armed with a main battery of nine 28 cm (11 in) C/34 guns in three triple turrets, though there were plans to replace these weapons with six 38 cm (15 in) SK C/34, like those fitted on the Bismarck.

Good morning my good old SSM Brothers.
Found some time to spare, so carried out more work on the Scharnhorst, and posting some pics.
Here goes:
Obtaining the correct information is very difficult. Only on Monday evening I managed to get the correct information regarding the correct number and position of the observation platform support struts. Didn't have much to correct, and added more struts to get the correct number. But this is only the beginning, as the real detail is in the pipework that runs along the platform - especially the rain water drain lines and the communication lines.
A view from the rear, showing the correct position and number of struts involved.
Starting off with the wind breaker shields, for the observation platform. Just one note on this. I am just fitting in the pieces, for the time being. When all the perimeter is fitted in, then I shall trim the shields down to the correct size and linear. For the time being, one shall see a lot of pieces fixed at random and not linear or equal.
A view from the front.
Progressing along the port side.
A view of the progress so far.
Shall post more pictures next Monday.

Good afternoon all,
I literally spent Saturday afternoon and evening + Sunday - full day to finish off the foretop observation platform wind breaker shields. I can say that it was a nerve cracking job, and the worst part of it, is that there is still more detailing works to be carried out for the same area.
Here goes:
The full set of wind breakers are now fitted in place and trimmed to size. Starting the fitting of the shield liners.
A view from the front, showing the complexity of the wind breaker shields.
A general view of the internal liners.
A view from the front.
A generic view of the external liners and hinge arm supports.
Another view of the same.
A view from the bottom rear.
A generic view.
Shall be able to post more pictures by next Thursday.
