This is a photo of one of the real things. i will need to make a lot of modifications including the bulged oval windows at th rear of the plane and the most obvious job, the avionics an radar fairing, that huge black cover on the underside.

Beech King Air
Hi Guys, just started building two beech king air machines in 72nd scale. Not my style and not my scale but here goes. i want to present them to the air wing since we are building their hangar. the kits are total thrash and one hell of a job to get together. Their fit is terrible, they are nearly devoid of all detail and i see some difficult work ahead. Here is the box. Looks good, the surprise is inside.

Interesting subjects Brian.
Very curious on how you'll transform these into real replicas of our AFM gems.
Awguri and keep us updated please.

Re: Beech King Air
These look like more of a challenge then you even described! There is almost nothing in the cockpit and absolutely nothing in the rest of the aircraft. These will definitely be a challenge.

To be totally honest with you, i prefer the bike, that is a total buzz and this weekend i did not even touch on the planes. It is such fun when you do something you don;t normally build.

Beech King Air
Hi, Brian,
From what I see the bike is coming up fine, but don't give up mate, the aircraft is turing into a very good model as well.

Nice project Brian! What are you going to do for the decals? I have printed some for the AFM Bulldog and would like to add some more AFM planes to my collection, so if you require I will try to print out some sets for you and anyone at the club wanting a set.

Re: Beech King Air
To be totally honest, i do not know, i was going to worry about that when i got to it but i have seen your bulldog and would love it if you could make some for me. I had already looked for some and the closest i got was French decals where the central round spot is missing. Then i would have to paint in the george cross. But now as the mafia guys would put it, you are making me an offer i cannot refuse. So tell me what i owe you and thanks again.

Re: Beech King Air
Brian,
Do you know the diameter of the roundels, and if you have a photo that we can use to measure the diameter of the white part as the red ring seems to be of a smaller ratio to the white than those of the Bulldog. If we can get someone to photograph for use the markings including any stencilling and the serial numbers in close up it would be much easier to make a correct set.

Re: Beech King Air
Marco, I think that they are the same size, but are located/painted at different positions on the helicopters.
The one in the background is more centered then the one in the foreground.

Re: Beech King Air
Give me a chance and i will measure the roundels on the real things. I am around these beauties once a week and it should be no problem to measure them. I will let you know as soon as I've done this, probably tomorrow week since we are not meeting this week....Unless i go there before!

If you have permission, it would be nice to have a full frame photo of the roundels, serials and any other markings.

Ok Ok ..yesterday at the club meeting ,I talked with our AFM Colonel Harold Stivala...and he told me that only the fuselage roundel is different and it's painted on ,and not a normal sticker...because there is some detail that cannot use the normal sticker...
so it's not the normal size , but even the wing looks the same size .. ...
This is officially from headquarters....

MY HUMBLE APOLOGIES Dear Marco as I thought you were refering ONLY to the helicopter roundels & this is evident since I ONLY mentioned the heli photo
