I was swimming in near comino last sunday and one of these flew right over us at high speed and at veeeery low altitude! I found myself cheering it on in a "WOOOOHOOO!!" fashion with my fist out of the water only to find out the rest of the swimmers looking at me as if I was mad or something

Re: Beech King Air
Although i can't say i am enjoying this build, it is a very sweet aircraft and looks just great when in flight. It is very streamlined and with its twin engines, highly pointed spinners looks really fast and powerful. I have really come to like them, pity that the kit i am building is so terrible, it takes all the pleasure out of the build. But i don;t blame you for your reaction.

Great work on all of that Brian! Lots of little parts to scratch build. The jig for the propellers is pretty neat.

Re: Beech King Air
Work on the undercarriage finally done. the front wheel legs are totally scratchbuilt. The main legs are modified and detailed from the kit ones.
Undercarriage doors next, then i will start masking the windows and painting.

Thanks Nann, by the way where on earth did you find that cool avatar?? I always thought that the Me262 looked like a shark and whoever did that artwork really merged the two nicely.

Here are both planes, complete, primed and ready for final inspection and maybe some touch up in case of scratches etc. Then off to the paint shop. You can now see the characteristic large radar/electronics fairing on the underside which characterizes our king air's. Nearing the end hopefully.

Basic painting is done at long last. Sorry for the delay but i have not been doing any modeling for a long time and these small monsters took up a lot of my time.

Re: Beech King Air
The real aircraft are brand new and kept in immaculate condition. I did not go with the usual shading and they might seem a bit too clean. But in reality that is the way they are. I did preshade the entire airframe but the effect is subtle and does not show up in the photos.

Re: Beech King Air
Great job on the paint job, in some ways, it's almost harder to do one of the modern military aircraft since they are so clean can any little thing in the model will just stand out, it's not like you can do any blending with weathering. Even doing a wash you have to be really careful as it can really stand out from the model is done too dark or too heavy. Just like when working on a car or motorcycle.

Re: Beech King Air
The colour for the underside and the anti glare anthracite grey were given to me by AFM and they are the actual paint used on the aircraft. I found an exact match for the darker grey using a humbrol paint. I will give you details of the RAL Numbers later.

Finally got some decals on these models. Decals are curtesy of Gordon. Still very basic yet. Lots of work to go.
