Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Superior result Brian!!! I want to see the Revell's gun bay!!!
by the way I think that you are gonna need to add more wiring front of the edge of gun bases (for G-4)
Here some pics..I dont Know if you have them already..but you never Know!!

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Hi Alex thanks for your comments but the G4 will not have an open gun bay since it is the same as this one. The pilot i wrote to retained his four gun arrangement of the earlier models. he did not have the twin 30mm cannon so i will not be repeating this.

Brian master detail as always...one thing I would suggest,I think for the MG's as I'm seeing from the photo's if I was you I don't use oil washes , I go more for metal drybrushing.....and maybe some smoke...

This is unbelievable Brian and I don't think "too many" modellers go this deep/far, to achieve authenticity of this calibre!!!!!!!
A round of APPLAUSE is appropriate here

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Impressive detail and realistic weathering, I stand to be corrected as might I be mistaken, but German MGs used for AFVs and Infantry [MG34] were never silvered or bare metal. The barrels were a dark burnt metal colour, in simple words black but not painted. The only area that get a distinctive metalic look was the muzzle break, the side holes are just for air and the barrel just slides in. I have seen an original one from a local collector and his MG came straight from the Balkans and was used during the 90s conflict ...

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Thanks to you all. Glad you like my work. I am not happy with the photos since the colours look different to reality. I plan to bring both planes to the club tomorrow if nothing crops up. I painted the guns in testors gun metal metallizer paint and buffed with gun metal mig pigment. I used a bit of black oil to get some deep shadow effect and also dry brushed it lightly. the effect is a shiny dark grey almost black. If i apply more mig pigment and buff it more, it will get shinier.

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Looking at my photos again Ivan i see that they look very shiny almost silver but their actual colour is that of the empty case chute in the last photo, very nearly the same as the gun in the photo you posted. Better see them live.

Actually Brian, I added that post due that Marco suggested more metal drybrushing, which though it highlights more the detail, personally I do not think it reflects the real thing. As they are they look metalized enough IMHO ...

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
A very small update. I have been the sickest i have ever been all week, high fever and to really prove that i was sick, I DID NOT FEEL LIKE MODELING!!! Well we're back from the land of the dead and here is a small update. Vertical tailplanes next, they really had to be modified.
The horizontal tailplane is glued in place on both models so this is next up.

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Hi guys, getting better now, the fact that i am enjoying my models again speaks volumes. Thanks for the well wishes. Those plans were in the Polish Aircraft Monograph about the Me110, No.3 i blew them up to scale by measuring them and the dragon tailplane. You see there are shop drawings for both the tailplanes for the E and the G model. i then worked out by what amount i needed to reduce the drawings, checked out with the dragon, and presto, used the other drawing to make the G tail. Those drawings are very common, they show the difference in the tail design from the E to the G model and can be found in almost any 110 book.
