What a great looking engine! Those wires/hoses add so much to the engine, can't wait to see it painted.
I answered your e-mail that I got today and I sent it to both your work and home. Hopefully it will go through your work this time, if not, look for it at home.
Here is the biggest job i have to complete just at its start. I need to change the shape of the engine nacelles for the Revell model which will become a G4. Here is the start in the form of much milliput added to increase its diameter at the spinner baseplate which is much larger than that for the earlier models. Incidentally, the spinner was the same as that for the Me109 G. The profile in the line drawing is the way it has to come, that is to scale (i.e. 32nd)
By the way, the wings' leading edge has been sanded down to a new angle since these were totally wrong. 4mm to 0mm were removed from the leading edge starting from the wingtip where the most material was removed to the engine nacelle. Topsides have been scribed.
Aw guys, it is not that bad at all i already have one of the top halves sanded down to shape. Milliput is not bad at all to work with. The only trouble (if you can call it so) I had was that i had to build up the underside since i nearly went through the plastic with sanding. Otherwise ok. I will post some more pics. Jigifieri ma rnexxielkomx taharquni!!
U ejja Brian tgergirx, admit you are enjoying this project!Personally bring a dog of a model to current standards is a hell of an achievement more then some kits that are shake and bake in the box!
The cowlings look like they will be a bunch of work, but they are coming along nicely. A really nice correction on the leading edge of the wings also, something that most would leave but it's what put your models a notch above.
Finally an update, this is what i have been up to this weekend. I have had to alter once more the shape of the lower half of the nacelles and built up the side walls of the wheel wells, they are now complete. I also scratched two radiator fairings which are huge and deep. I still need to manipulate the nacelles to fit them in place. The work is just starting here. By the way, on the upper half of the nacelles, i have made the bulge from milliput. These just need some refinement and then only the surface detail remains to be added after which i can start the laborious task of detailing the overly bare wheel wells. Lots of plans but no time. Well, here goes.
