Re: Libya crisis
Last Wednesday 8th June two USAF F-16 dverted to Malta fully armed. These F-16's are very rare to see as they are based in shaw airbase.
At around 5 pm of the same day a French Navy Rafale perfromed a low level flight pass over rw 31. Actually he didn't land.

Re: Libya crisis
Nice pictures Antoine!!!!
The F-16s are block 50 version. Load configuration indicates SEAD mission profile.
The Rafale carries a AREOS Reco NG pod on the centre pylon which has recently entered service, upgrading the french to all digital reconnaissance.
Keep them coming.
p.s. - the rafale pilots probably got wind of the latest increase in fuel prices just in time, so decided it would be better to get out of here as fast as he could

So, aren't you by any chance saying that the fuel prices are cheap here As for the comments left on various articles regarding the aircraft, well we have a lot of politcal, military and aviation experts commenting

Well done Antoine, some really nice pics of some really nice planes at last. Maybe the only good thing that results from the mess, we get to see some decent fighters.

It's not a mess. it's an UPRISING, turned into a revolution/civilwar! Citizens are trying to gain a better future from a regime, we are having another country escalating now -SYRIA, but I guess there gonna be a different story ... no NATO intervention for sure as it's a hot area and the army is damn strong!
But I agree thanks to Libya we are seeing some decent traffic and a busy blog of armchair generals on the Times and on BondiPlus!

Re: Libya crisis
This photos speak a lot ... Loyalist troops parading the 41st anniversary when USA [11TH June] left base Tripoli, look at the fear of the young ones when a NATO plane [reporter claims a drone] flew overhead the city ...

They are waiting for the flypast by the libyan airforce!
Anyway, they should be afraid and rightly so, as in a parade they are sitting ducks!!
