In the second photo I'm sure that it is a mirage. The rafale is wider on the front and the intakes are underneath the fuselage not on the sides. I think they were two mirages and two rafales cause I agree with you that in the first photo two of the aircrafts have two contrails.

On BBC yesterday they had a breaknews that French jet claimed a Libyan plane kill, first air action till date but have found nothing to prove this yet, USA bombed the F15 what a waste IMHO as it was already damaged enough to grab anything sophisticated ... for sure now it looks like the coalition force gonna be leadered by NATO.

That's all from the front till date ...

Initial reports said that a french rafale shot down a Libyan aircraft that forced the no flyzone, but it was later confirmed that the aircraft was destroyed on the ground after it had landed. United Arab Emirates will be sending 6 F-16s and 6 Mirages for the No flyzone, so this is effectively a non US only force. The other Arab state that sent aircraft is Qatar. Nato will be taking over the No fly zone within days now. A naval blockade in inforce in the mediterrean to enforce an embargo, including Turrkish Naval vessels. Uptill this point the coalition is getting larger.

More likely it will end up in a stalemate, no side strong enough to overcome the other - and in the meantime more poeple will die.

Mig-21 underwing rocket pods, and they have time to paint them??? As they say necessity is the mother of all inventions, but for one I would not want to be near one of those trucks that will fire them, better keep a short distance away!!!

As for the ghostrider - a lot of pedal power, but if he welds the RPG to the chassis it could also help to get additional thrust - rocket powered actually!

These guys have a lot of determination, but they cannot take on an army which is trained. It is not a question of advancing, but holding those positions. There are talks of arming the rebels, and not going into the merits of the legality of such action, it is useless giving them Hi-tech and heavy weaponary without actually training them to use such weapons. Training will take time which they do not have!

According to foreign news the loyalist professional army outmen them 10-1, it is a fighat against all odds considering that the 10 are mostly professional soldier ... for sure both have leadership that needs some assesment, lets face it if you go into that youtube feature it was claimed that those T72M1 knocked out and wasted in the streets of Benghazi were entering an urban suburb without soldier support, an insane decision ...

Hope they have got IFF transponders, if they have not got the right codes they will prop up as enemy aircraft on the AWACS and liable to be shot down, apart the fact that no military aircraft should be flying around in the no fly zone!

Gaddafi forces arre claiming they have shot down 2 rebel helicopters and saying that these were in violation of the no flyzone. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13029165

This footage look fishy to me, it's Loyalist troops exploring the spoils of a good number of rebel tanks and trucks, never thaught rebels had so much armour in their hands.

If true it's interesting as they are painting yellow demarkation signs on barrels to avoid friendly fire as both units have the same T72s, T55 and BMP1s ...

If these are real Rebel tanks look at the new ID code of yellow on gun fume extractor apart the old monarchy flag. The 3 tone camo on the T72 looks the same from previous loyal units deployed in the East.

These are some different camo T72M1s from the ones in Tripoli which still have the last parades black on sand and whhite trimmed wheels. These inaction ones look t be dark green [but not Russian basic one] on sand and also 3 tone ones Chocolate Brown, Yellow Green and Dark Sand.

Loyalists T72M1s [still intact ; ) just before NATO actions started]
