I know why. so that the picture doesnt get 'stolen' by any unknown person. it happened in another forum and that persons picture got put on a news site without the person even knowing!

I think that are they must have found some loophole in the UN resoltion, maybe because it was issued against the Gaddafi regime, but the No Fly Zone seems that was for all Libyan Air space. http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2011/sc10200.doc.htm
I wonder whether supplying weapons to the rebels is in line with the resolution??

Re: Libya crisis
Gaddafi forces fire Scud Missile. After months of bombing sorties, and his forces are still able to mount a Scud into position and fire it ????????????? The missile seems to have overshot it intended target and not shot down, so it could have hit its intended target, and please I hope they do not come out with the saying that it is old unreliable technology cause a ball and musket can still kill. Nice one Nato, what else does he still have operational.

Sometimes the old is more then a menace to newer technology ... this has been going for generations! Though scuds on TEl transporters are 60/70 era technology they are still reliable weaponry, not easy to predict as these can be moved as fast as any artillery piece and only sourced out when fired, which by time they are chased the Tel transporter would be already back to the barracks. The only good thing these missles are unpredictable as it was the V2 in WW2, you really can't have a clue were it lands ... but what's comes up has to come down they say! Probably Rebels now are seeking Patriots for defence . In GulfWar 1 they had to use SAS and Rangers to hunt them down and with not much of a success ... GW2 started off because of the elusive 'el Husseini' upgraded Scuds, so NATO still regard them as a treath I guess ...
Let's not also start the story of that strange explosion heard near the North of Malta ....

Not yet, though the rebels control about 80% of the city there is heavy fighting going on. Rebels claim that they have captured 3 of gaddafi sons, but it will not be over until he is captured. Of note is the collapse of Tripoli defences which happened in about a day. The question remains, where are the thousands of soldiers the information spokesmen said that were there to defend Tripoli?? Are they real or was just propoganda. I hope I am wrong but I feel something fishy going on, it was too easy this time.

Re: Libya crisis
Does this feel like a de ja vue when the Iraqi Minister of Defence was saying no USA are in Baghdad and the Abrahams Thunder stike was already in the city centre ... the die hards surely will be doing their last stand till the end but were is Daffi ... will he remain fighting or flee ...
As for the thousands of soldiers yesterday afternoon the rebels stormed the Khadis elite brigade HQ and most defected or escaped ... but today it was reported that Khaddafi's compound was heavily defended with tanks ... the rebel attack was easily repelled ... but will they hold on to the end or to the last shell!

Re: Libya crisis
According to a short audio broadcast earlier, he said that he will stay there till the end, though he is nowhere to be seen or any reports of his whereabouts. The end is there, the question is when it will happen and how much more people will die cause of it. Even if he remains holed up in his compound, there is not much more point now, it is only delaying the inevitable. Had not most of Tripoli not fallen it would have been another story. We wait and see what will happen and how it will happen.

Mirage with new colours ...
So those that have been to the Malta Airshow this year might have witnessed this event of the changing the insignia on the Libyan jet, apart that have you decided now that you have seen it 1 to 1 what are the colours for the benefit of those who have not seen it up close and clear, I guess Mr Sant should have grabbed his didgicam and made a foto report of each corner : )
am I seeing a brownish/greyish hue ?

Re: Libya crisis
YOU SEE.. HOW RIGHT I WAS!
When the public was not there & fences removed, i rubbed my nose against it as much as i could. i took many detailed photos and x2 walk around videos. one during the day, the other in the evening (will soon upload)
The grey changes according to light. under bright sunshine is looks like dark ghost gray but under lower light and in shadows it turns into a brownish gray with hints of purple.
