They are quite expensive but they make one hell of a difference when you are working on undercarriage or the engine and other detail work. i think it is worth investing in some of them.

Isma min tkellem, the king of figures. Thanks Steve, and i appreciate your looking at my work and your comments. Very glad you like it. Unfortunately the going is slow but time is at a premium and seems to be getting less and less. I am dying to finish this bird.

The last two hurdles, the undercarriage and the prop spinner are now done and painting is up next. here is the work on the undercarriage and the prop spinner, a lot of milliput was used. hope you like the result.
Wheels up first, the kit tyres were vinyl and look ghastly.
Here is the start of a tyre, a round 'sausage' shape of miliput wrapped around the wheel hub.
The rest are various views of the complete undercarriage, the wheel doors are made from sheeet aluminiium.
A few pics of the pointed spinner found on these models. The kit spinner was the standard type with the central hole.

Thanks Ray, i learned from the best in the business. Once a project starts, there is no turning back, just the goal to finish it to the best possible standard. But believe it or not this build was real fun.

Marco what do you think about the spinner? I tried as best i could to follow drawings and photos but the tip looks different in various photos, some are more pointed than others. I tried to copy the photos showing Muncheberg's machine or those from his squadron. Do you think it is ok? Thanks for your comments.

In the photo looks like the spinner for E-4N for the E-7 the last one more pointed ..

Marco, the ones you showed me look more rounded than the one i made but the one in Muncheberg's photo looks more pointed, am i right or not. About the split pin, i thought you were joking but now i see you are serious, i will make it. Also the tyre valve then...and the tally plates...and that tiny red whatever it is....

If you consider the page from the book with the line drawings, the ones you see in the photos are like the top right had corner ones, they even have a sort of circle on the tip but the one in Muncheberg's photo and others from JG26 in Sicily are like the one at the bottom much more pointed.

Spinner seems to be right IMHO considering & judging your points re photo of Munchberg's Bird
However I sort of feel a bit of a let down re split pin
I mean, through ALL that incredible detail & attention to such, I would have never dreamt of letting Marco into your line of defense, thru such a narrow breech in the wall
Brian, I'm taking the piss coz you're doing an OUTSTANDING job

Ray et all, I thank Marco for noting the failing on my side to properly detail the wheel hub. In fact, yesterday i spent an entire hour redoing the centre spindle (broke most of the wheel leg in the process) and included the most elusive SPLIT PIN!! I will take more pics to show you all that your comments whatever they are will be most welcome. Certain details do escape me sometimes.
Thanks Ray for taking the time to check out the pics with my work. I think it was like that but then yesterday i just sanded down a bit the tip maybe it was a bit too pointed after all. But there were two distinct types of pointed spinners and one was very obvious because besides having a more rounded tip, it also had a circular cap thingy on the very tip of the spinner. The other was decisively more pointed and i think that was the one Muncheberg had on his machine.

Yes Brian that was my point , I just send the pic's to compare, the one with the small hole is not your plane , yours is the pointed one ...
and sorry if I dis guide you re slip pin ..... and may be you had a hard time doing it .. but these things are in my mind.......

These last three are not like the one on Muncheberg's machine, the one i did is the correct one, it is more pointed. But i think that i had too much of a point and sanded it a bit to look better. The wheel hub is redone with the split pin now and it does look much better, thanks for pointing it out. It is very obvious on 109 wheels and it looks good. Will post a pic soon.
